[Congress] The government will not allow anyone to delete gender information from ID cards and passport registrations

(Morning News) The government will not legislate to allow anyone to delete gender information marked on ID cards or passports after repealing the provisions of Section 377A of the Criminal Code.

Parliament has debated the repeal of Section 377A of the Criminal Code and the amendment of the constitution over the past two days. Speaking in Parliament, MP Lin Mouquan (Mumbaden District) hoped that the government would not legislate to allow anyone to delete their registered gender information from ID cards or passports.

In response to this, Home Affairs Minister and Justice Minister Shanmugam said in his concluding debate on Tuesday (November 29) that the government does not plan to do so.
