Hong Kong media: Li Jiachao will go to Beijing on Wednesday to report on his duties
Hong Kong media said that Hong Kong Chief Executive Li Jiachao will leave for Beijing on Wednesday (December 21) to report on his duties for the first time since he took office in July this year.
Sing Tao Daily reported the above on Monday (December 19), citing anonymous sources. The report also said that former Chief Executive Carrie Lam went to Beijing to report on her duties from December 20 to 23 last year, which is similar to this year, during which she was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang.
After Li Jiachao was elected chief executive in May this year, he went to Beijing and was received by Xi Jinping and Li Keqiang. Xi Jinping also attended Li Jiachao's inauguration ceremony on July 1, and the two also jointly attended the APEC meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand in November, but did not formally meet during that time.
