Li Keqiang's visit to Cambodia: Cooperation injects impetus into promoting regional economic integration
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Tuesday evening (November 8) for an official visit. Li Keqiang said he expected the cooperation between China and South East Asia to inject new impetus into the promotion of regional economic integration.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Li Keqiang arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport on Tuesday night by special plane at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia to attend a series of East Asian cooperation leaders' meetings and pay an official visit to Cambodia. Li Keqiang's wife Cheng Hong, State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Xiao Jie and other escorts arrived on the same plane.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong led senior government officials to greet Li Keqiang and Cheng Hong at the airport, and local youths presented flowers to Li Keqiang and Cheng Hong. Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wentian and Ambassador to ASEAN Deng Xijun also greeted them at the airport.
Li Keqiang said that China and ASEAN are each other's comprehensive strategic partners and largest trading partners. The current international and regional situation is complex and profoundly evolving, various uncertain and unstable factors are increasing, and global development is facing unprecedented challenges. China expects the series of East Asia Cooperation Leaders' Meetings to focus on development and cooperation, adhere to multilateralism and free trade, adhere to open cooperation and mutual benefit and win-win results, jointly maintain the security and smooth flow of the global industrial chain supply chain, work together to deal with global challenges, and inject new impetus into promoting regional economic integration and maintaining regional and even world peace, stability, development and prosperity.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China and Cambodia are close neighbors with profound traditional friendship and continuous new development of mutually beneficial cooperation. China hopes to share solidarity and friendship with Cambodia through this visit, discuss plans for cooperation, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Cambodia to achieve more results, so as to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.
During the series of East Asia Cooperation Leaders' Meetings, Li Keqiang will attend the 25th China-ASEAN (10 + 1) Leaders' Meeting, the 25th ASEAN and China-Japan-ROK (10 + 3) Leaders' Meeting and the 17th East Asia Summit.
During his visit to Cambodia, Li Keqiang will meet with King Sihamoni of Cambodia, hold talks with Hun Sen, witness the signing of cooperation documents between the two sides, and attend the opening of the expressway from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville Port, and the physical handover of the restoration project of Chajiao Temple of Angkor in Cambodia.
