Morning Post Senior Digital School Session 4 "Students Accompany Me" Open for Registration

Lianhe Zaobao's Senior Digital School's "Students Walk with Me" campaign has received an overwhelming response since its launch in April, with each event filling up within hours of opening registration. The fourth event will be held on October 28th.

This series of activities will be hosted by Lianhe Zaobao and the School of Humanities and Sciences of Ngee Ann Polytechnic. 120 students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic will accompany seniors to take classes to help seniors improve their digital skills and strengthen their awareness of preventing online fraud.

Digital Ambassadors from the Singapore Digital Transformation Office will teach seniors in Chinese about mobile video functions and digital payments, as well as how to use the Community Development Council Neighborhood Shopping Voucher QR code. Participants can also learn to use the Lianhe Zaobao app and tablet to read news, and learn to conduct web searches from the sharing by Lianhe Zaobao staff.

To raise participants' awareness of online fraud, Lianhe Zaobao staff will also provide practical tips on fraud prevention, as well as guidance on how to spot common phishing and online scams. Attendees will also receive a cyber security handbook, which covers information on cyber security and teaches how to surf the Internet safely and avoid traps.

The fourth event, limited to 120 students, will be held on October 28 (Friday) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the auditorium on the first floor of the Newspaper Centre.

Interested members of the public can register online, but registration is not accepted on site. Senior students who are interested in subscribing to the Lianhe Zaobao digital package can enjoy a 50% discount on the annual fee when ordering on site, and a gift for subscribing to the tablet package (with conditions attached).
